Ted Cruz (R-Texas) offered an explanation as to why outgoing House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) unexpectedly announced last week that he would resign from Congress at the end of next month.“You know this past week was a big news week in Washington,” Cruz said during a lengthy speech on the Senate floor Monday evening. “The Speaker of the House John Boehner announced he was going to resign. And there was a lot of speculation in the media why the speaker of the house resigned. Mr. President, I’m going to tell you why he resigned.”
