The Old Republic
By Tammy Derouin
I recently shared a classic movie saga with my girls. They loved it too! I will never forget all the excitement which
surrounded its release and the release of the original sequels. The special effects alone were ground
breaking. The characters ranged from
humans to droids to an amazing assortment of aliens. The timeless story of good versus evil was
uniquely told in a way which captivated the world. Good versus evil was transparently clear… “A
long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.”
What was it that captivated us? Why were theatres packed? Why did the crowds cheer? When you remove the special effects and the
odd looking characters, what you are left with is the rock solid truth. Good will destroy evil. It will take time and it will not be
easy. The farther down the dark path one
travels, the longer it will take to right one’s self. Immediate redemption is possible if one is
willing to self-sacrifice.
Turning to the dark side may at first seem like an easier
path. But, benefits and rewards are obtained
by causing death and destruction. Your
freedoms and individual liberties are extinguished as you tether yourself to an
all-powerful central government. The
ruling party hunts down and destroys all evidence of the guardians of
freedom. Their weapon is fear. They terrorize and attempt to destroy those
who oppose their will.
When you live in a land of men rather than a land of laws,
the ruling party or ruling man decides your fate. Death is the penalty if you disappoint, disagree
or stand in the way. The accuser is the
judge, jury and executioner. You have no
recourse. You are at their mercy once
the Old Republic has been destroyed.
The message in STAR WARS is very clear. We, as a nation once understood the
difference between good and evil. We
once fought evil and didn’t apologize.
Our elected leaders didn’t empower, fund or allow the enemy to
infiltrate our government or walk across our borders causing a threat to the
safety and security of our land. The
enemy was called the enemy and we eradicated them. To do anything less was once considered treasonous
behavior.
We were captivated because we were the Old Republic, the
guardians of freedom. That’s why the
theaters were packed and that’s why we cheered when evil was destroyed. In today’s reality, the more one deceives the
higher one climbs. An executive is
re-elected and his anti-Old Republic minions run for office in an attempt to
continue the tyranny by means of an election. Of course, the progressive
movement runs on hope to change that process.
Elections are just an annoyance for those who know best.
If it’s been a while since you’ve watched the STAR WARS saga,
I would highly recommend revisiting this timeless story. What may have served as pure entertainment
prior to the transformation of our Old Republic, may serve as an additional wakeup
call. It’s a trap!
An empire is being created. A hopeful, want-to-be emperor waits for an
opportunity. A future death star is
waiting for its final approval. Approval
and funding are actually being considered by the weak minded who will become future
targets. Freedom is disappearing. Enslavement will be our future. We are traveling down a very dark path.
A once great nation, which flourished for over 200 years,
has become weak and vulnerable. It only
took a hostile visionary less than a decade to deceive a nation. Our history, traditions and values are being
mocked. The law of our land, our
Constitution, is being ignored. Congress
refuses to rein in the executive, which makes Congress obsolete. The ways of our Old Republic will come to an
end if we do not stop evil in its tracks.
Do we want an emperor? Do we have
an emperor? What does his behavior tell
you?
We are perfectly capable of identifying evil on the big
screen. Why is it so difficult for some
to see it in real life? Although some
buy into the hate being manufactured by the ruling party, the majority of
Americans haven’t acted violently. When
we search our feelings, we know the truth.
We know the difference between right and wrong. We know evil and we know we need to destroy it
before it destroys us, the U.S.
Our light is being extinguished. Do we want to continue going towards the dark
side? We have the ability and the tools
to correct our path. It isn’t too
late. We’ve already paid such a high
price for our freedom. The war took
place… A long time ago, in a land we once held so very, very dear.
“Only now, at the end, do you understand.”
The Emperor
