The Next Person You Silence Could Be You
By Tammy Derouin
I find it very hypocritical that so many people who claim to care about the world and its people can also be the most hateful people.  What I don’t understand is when people that are politically Center to Right speak their mind, they are condemned.  Forget mudslinging, I’m talking about a mud slide.  The abuse that is directed towards them is vicious.  An all-out Blitzkrieg is launched against anyone the Left deems as dangerous.  Their network or publisher is attacked and usually boycotted.  In some cases there is even an attempt to remove them from the air waves.   The beauty of our nation is that we have freedom of speech.  The Right doesn’t want to stop the Left from talking. They want people to know and understand exactly what they believe.  The Left tries everything it can to stop the Right from talking.   That should make you wonder what the Left is trying to hide.  This is very dangerous.  The more opinions that circulate, the more informed we are as a people.   If one group loses its voice, eventually everyone will lose their voice.  Just because your cause or view is on top today doesn’t mean it always will be.  If the government succeeds in silencing one group, the more vulnerable the next group becomes.  The more the people help the government to silence any one group, the closer we are to permanently silencing ourselves.
People that are center to left politically, tend to be the ones that want the government to support social issues.  There are social groups for every possible cause, condition and cruelty.  I have nothing against people or groups that want to make improvements in our world.  People make the difference, not the government.  It isn’t the job of the government to feed, clothe, shelter, provide medical, provide jobs, provide phones, or take over banks and private industry.  The more the government spends on social issues the less it has for its assigned responsibilities as listed in the Constitution.
We as private citizens do not have the capability to defend our country from an invasion.  We can do our best to hold our individual piece of land, for now.  The government is trying to take away our right to bear arms. Without a voice and without the ability to protect that which is ours, we don’t stand a chance against foreign invasion.  But that isn’t our job, that’s the government’s job.  The defense budget is going to be cut and millions upon millions of our tax dollars are sent overseas.  Does that make you feel safe and secure?
When did stating facts become racist?  The President has been labeled the “Food Stamp” president.  It doesn’t have anything to do with race.  It has everything to do with facts.  When Obama took office there were 32 million people collecting food stamps.  Today there are 47 million, an increase of 46 percent.  Sounds like a pretty accurate title to me.  When Obama took office there were 39.8 million in poverty.  Today it’s 46.2 million, an increase of 6.4 million.  When Obama took office the national debt divided by each individual was $34,731.  Today it is $51,037 per person.  That’s an increase of $16,306.  We can’t continue to survive as a nation at this pace.  Obama is spending us into a collapse.  He really thinks he deserves four more years. Hasn’t he caused enough damage?  This nation has not been prosperous under Obama.  Most civilizations decline over many years.  Obama took the driver’s seat and drove us right off the cliff.  I would have never guessed that the United States could go from being the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world to the pathetic, apologetic state we have succumbed to in less than four years.
As Obama drives the United States and our economy off the cliff, he is funding our enemies.  Obama promised to send Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood government, $450 million.  That’s only a small part of the $1 billion he promised for Egyptian debt relief.  Do you see the problem?  The United States is in an economic crisis and Obama is sending money, we don’t have, to Egypt.  He’s still betting against America.
Obama is a puppet.  He didn’t accomplish all of this on his own.  When Obama is no longer useful, someone else will take the wheel.  The next layer of freedoms will begin to be stripped away.  Think about that when you cheer to silence someone.  The next person you silence could be you.
“Without Freedom of thought, there can be no such Thing as Wisdom; and no such thing as public Liberty, without Freedom of speech.”
Benjamin Franklin
