One-Way Street

As Americans we enjoy the wonderful blessings of freedom. We have the freedom to speak, think, believe and live as we choose as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others. As Americans we have the right to be individuals.

Sadly, we have entered a time in our history where individualism is under attack by the political Left. The Democratic Party tries to come across as the guardians of individualism. So why is it that they attack and belittle those who think for themselves or who see life differently? It turns out that it's a one-way street. The party which supposedly champions differences will declare war on you and will try to destroy you if you step outside of their political box of enslavement.

As I observe the behavior on the Left, one thing has become transparently clear. And to be clear, I'm talking about the dictionary definition of transparent, not the Obama muddy waters definition. Hostility and hate toward our fellow countrymen have exploded over the past eight plus years. Deplorable tactics have been used against those who would oppose the party line, both inside and outside of the party. Hate and fear tactics are used in an attempt to keep people in line. In true progressive form, they blame conservatives for spreading hate.

It makes me wonder if there's some sort of secret oath that one must take in order to claim ties to the Democrat Party. Do you give up the right to think for yourself and to search for truth? Do you give up the right to question the Democrats which are in office or to disagree with their platform or actions? Do you pledge to blindly follow, shut up and agree to not ask questions? That's what it looks like to me. When someone they consider to be one of their own steps out of line, fangs and claws appear as their true colors of enslavement are reveled. If you believe in freedom, it's a nasty picture which comes to light.

They do indeed come across that you must relinquish your individualism and plug into their collective. If you deviate from the party line, the party's way of thinking, you will be viciously attacked. You will be told that you are speaking out of turn and should just shut up. Efforts will be made to destroy you and your livelihood. That's not freedom, that's enslavement.

Deplorable tactics have been used to justify a means to an end, by liberals, for some time. Just look at the actions of the Obama administration and how departments were corrupted and power was abused.

The political Left embraces tactics which instill fear and encourages bad and even violent behavior. With their actions as examples, you are only entitled to your rights, if you agree with their ideology. Well, once again, that's not freedom that's enslavement.

We have also entered a time where special justice is preferred by the Left over equal justice. Cheering and hoping for punishment, even extreme punishment, when a political opponent is accused or found guilty of a crime is acceptable for those on the Left. However, when someone within their party may be guilty of a crime it becomes a whole new political ball game. Looking the other way, not investigating, offering flimsy excuses for their actions, not taking their possible offense seriously, using the press to spin the story more to their liking, and stalling or completely avoiding the proper procedure like using the court system, is special treatment not equal justice under the law.

Do we want to live in a country where your political views, or your beliefs in general, determine the type of justice you receive? If a crime may have been committed, it should be investigated and the appropriate steps of the law followed regardless of political affiliation. Lady Justice wears a blindfold for a reason. To not follow the rule of law because the individual in question has political favor is not only wrong, it is extremely dangerous.

If we continue to go down this path we will end up with one political party, one news agency and one state approved way of thinking. We will have traveled back into darkness. Do we want to give up all that we have fought for and achieved as the land of the free to go backwards? Do we want to be a land of men rather than a land of laws?

What do you think will happen if one day you question the party or decide to think for yourself? The cheering you do today could become the tears you will cry tomorrow.
