Out Of The Darkness
By Tammy Derouin
Luke 2:8-14
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of
the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said
unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which
shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a
Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall
find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly
there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and
saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
The United States of America is a Christian nation. We were founded on Christian/Judeo
beliefs. Our birth as a nation rises out
of a desire to be free. Oppression and
tyranny reined throughout the world resulting in the persecution of anyone who
did not believe as the ruling man or party believed. The world was enslaved.
Out of the darkness, a brilliant star shone bright. Many would seek, not only upon that night but
in the days and years following the birth of the Christ child, the wonders and
promises of a new age. Christianity
entered the world.
The teachings of Jesus Christ are simple and so eloquent. You are to treat others as you would want to
be treated. Love your neighbor as
yourself. Charity and self-sacrifice
should come from the heart.
Christianity, Jesus, gives you the freedom to follow his teachings by
way of free will. You are to seek Him
out willingly and without coercion.
Man may have been created in the image of God however, man is far
from perfect. Man has a desire to
control and force his will upon his fellow countrymen and surrounding
territories. Wars and battles are inevitable.
There have been many times when it has become necessary to fight against
those who wish to destroy Christianity. For
centuries, since the birth of Christianity, evil has encroached upon our way of
life and our beliefs. Evil will always attempt to conquer and rein;
forcing enslavement and unwanted beliefs on the people they hope to conquer. It
sometimes becomes necessary to wage war against the darkness of evil.
Out of the darkness, a beacon shone bright. Many would seek, not only during the
formation of a free nation but for generations to follow, the wonders and
promises of a new age. Freedom entered
the world; The United States of America was born.
The rules and laws of this free nation are simple and
eloquent. You have the freedom to live
as you believe. You have been granted
certain unalienable rights, not from man but from God. Among them are life, liberty and the pursuit
of happiness. You have the freedom to
speak, believe and protect yourself as you see fit, as long as it doesn’t
infringe upon the rights of others.
Man may have been created in the image of God however; man is so
very far from perfect. Man has a desire
to control and force his will upon his fellow countrymen. Wars and battles are
inevitable. There have been many times
when it has become necessary to fight against those who wish to destroy our
home and our freedoms. For generations,
since the birth of our nation, evil has encroached upon our way of life and
beliefs. Evil has attempted to force its
will by chipping away at our foundation.
Evil will always attempt to conquer and rein; forcing enslavement upon
the people. Eventually, it becomes necessary to wage war against the darkness
of evil.
Now, more than ever, our Christian nation and our freedoms are
under attack. We are witnessing a
movement which involves both foreign and domestic enemies of the United States. There is an active attempt to destroy our
beliefs as Christians and our beliefs in freedom and liberty.
Perhaps for the first time in our history, the attempt to destroy our
country runs deeper than we ever thought possible. Evidence may one day show
how the plot to destroy us ran through all branches and departments of
government. The evidence is already
transparently clear and available to view.
The American people are the only ones who are capable of changing our
path. How long are we going to pretend
the enemy hasn’t entered our land and infiltrated our government? How long will we deny the truth?
Christmas, Easter and July 4, 1776; our freedoms were made
possible because of Christianity.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
