Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield Were Both Carrying Holstered .45-Cal Handguns When They Were Killed — Safety Still On: Texas Ranger | TheBlaze.com:
"Chris Kyle, former Navy SEAL sniper and author of “American Sniper,” and Chad Littlefield were both carrying loaded 1911 .45ACP semiautomatic handguns in waistband holsters when they were shot and killed by Eddie Ray Routh at a Texas gun range in February 2013, Texas Ranger Michael Adcock testified on Thursday.
Both handguns were still on “safety” when the two men were killed. Though prosecuting attorneys can’t draw conclusions while questioning witnesses, the detail seems to suggest that Kyle and Littlefield likely didn’t have a chance to defend themselves or draw their weapons after Routh opened fire."
