"When this trade occurred, Americans were shocked and appalled as the president had not only betrayed the longstanding principle of refusing to negotiate with terrorists, but doing so to receive a traitor and releasing dangerous terrorists back into the population.
Throughout it all, however, the Obama Administration displayed a willful ignorance and claimed that the diehard terrorists would no longer be a threat to American security.In fact, in 2014, presumptive 2016 presidential contender Hillary Clinton defended the swap, claiming that the Taliban leaders were “not a threat to the United States.”
