What’s In Your Future?

By Tammy Derouin

In our transformed America, nothing makes sense.  News and information are key components in a free society.  When individuals rely on entertainment for vital information, truth is lost at the expense of a political agenda.

At one time, most television programs incorporated morals and ethics.  Dramas and sitcoms alike used a storyline to encourage basic Golden Rule behavior.  If you were fortunate enough to have your eyes open after the late edition of the news, late night comedy poked fun at life.  Because you understood the difference between fact and fiction, it allowed you to laugh.

Television has become one giant headache.  Reality TV, in many cases, gives a false sense of real reality.  I have no desire to turn to a show, for entertainment purposes, which is going to make me irritated and annoyed.  There are plenty of real life struggles that do just that.  Why waste time watching the irrelevant?

There was a time when Americans didn’t want to be deceived.  We demanded truth and justice.  It’s hard to imagine now, but in days gone by, reporters actually wanted to expose criminal behavior. Those in government were watched very closely.   The free press provided a much needed line of defense; a safeguard in our system of checks and balances.  Now we accept lies being delivered by clowns.

I’m beginning to understand why Common Core is so important. The government needs to re-educate us so their actions make sense.  What’s the difference between today’s realities and make believe reality?  When is a lie, not a lie, just a big misunderstanding?  Ridiculous sounding statements which took place during the transitional years will begin to make sense.  Agreeing to accept something before you fully understand what you’ve committed yourself to, should become logical.  I suppose there will be some sort of mathematical magic show which will explain how a “let me be clear” statement is true, until it becomes a lie.  Then again, maybe that will require a new gym class because it will involve some sort of acrobatic twist.

I’m looking forward to the new equation which shows how one fictitious crisis plus one equal or greater fictitious crisis becomes absolute truth.  I think it involves carrying over the hidden evidence.  No, it must be subtracting the obvious to avoid leaving behind any carry over evidence.  This process must include some type of magic.  Imagine common sense and logic completely disappearing.  Future generations are going to love National Propaganda Schools.  The magic and acrobatic gym classes alone should keep kids from dropping out.  Then again, a locked door with a security guard does the same thing.

Cass Sunstein said, “Once we know that people are human and have some Homer Simpson in them, then there’s a lot that can be done to manipulate them.”   He believes we need to be nudged in the left’s direction.  The funny thing about nudging is that it leads to pushing.  When pushing fails, it leads to shoving.  Eventually, shoving leads to shooting.  Good thing the left is trying to take away our guns.  We could be in real danger.

My daughter summed up this interesting story problem quite nicely after a discussion on the importance of the Second Amendment.  She wanted to know how we were supposed to protect ourselves if the government takes away our guns.  Exactly, smart girl!  I’m very aware of what happens to a defenseless population.  It won’t be long and she too will get the education I hoped would only take place in book form.

A power hungry, weapon confiscating, information limiting, mass murdering, one party system, national socialist leader who eliminated the opposition along with those he despised once said, “If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”  Adolf Hitler.  Come to think of it, you don’t need a math course to figure out how a lie plus a lie equals truth.  It’s available in many history books.

This is where the math really gets interesting.  Lie plus lie equals truth.  Lie told often enough begins to make sense and magically transforms into the accepted truth.  Accepted truth minus any hope of finding the original equation equals terrifying change.
The transformation of truth to lie, to new truth, priceless or damning, depending which side of the tracks you’re assigned.  Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, extinguished.  What’s in your future?

“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens.  They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.”
