We Are Americans

A Houston man was recently ordered to remove the American flag from his balcony.  Unfortunately, this kind of disregard for the American flag isn’t new.  The masks are coming off and the truth is making an appearance.  The manager of the apartment unit stated it’s a “threat to the Muslim community.” 

America, it’s long overdue but if we don’t roll up our sleeves and dig in our heels, there will be a much different flag on the horizon.  If you feel the American flag is a threat to you, why are you here?  If you’re not a citizen or you’re not here legally, what’s threatening about the symbol that is giving you a home?  Are you collecting assistance from the paychecks of those who are citizens?  Have you fled an oppressive government and fear for your life?  If so, you may want to reconsider your destination.  If you’re a member of an organization or religion determined to destroy America with the assistance and apparent blessing of the federal government, I couldn’t care less if the American flag is a threat to you.    

The first step; admit we have a problem.  We have allowed those who would like nothing more than to destroy us, to take advantage of the virtues that make us Americans.  We do not wish to condemn a person or group based on the actions of some individuals.  We defend and stand up for those who are getting a bad deal, despite our differences.  These are just a couple reasons which have made the United States the destination of choice.  Take a look at the cheat sheets left at the border.

In our desire to avoid being called names such as racist, we have closed our eyes to reality and opened the gate for the wolves.  We’ve been conditioned that it’s not nice to call a wolf a wolf.   We’ve changed our vocabulary so as not to upset our enemies.  The wolves care a great deal about how they are perceived but only until they are given complete access.  Once they’re in, they rule the roost.

Step two; drop the political correctness.  It’s destroying us.  If the Muslim community or any other group is offended by the American flag and what it stands for, get out of my country!  If you are a guest, you follow the house rules.  If you are a trespasser, you will be escorted off the premises. We would accept nothing less on our individual property.  Why are we allowing it at the national level?  

I will not silently watch as intruders vandalize, steal, mock, intimidate, bribe and coerce by way of political correctness, those who are supposed to protect and defend my home.  I will not allow intruders to define my role as an American citizen.  I will not apologize for anything I have acquired through my own labor.  I will not watch invaders; the criminals, hijack and destroy the Constitution. 

We, as a nation were violated on September 11, 2001.  When an individual is violated they tend to change their behavior by taking extreme measures to protect themselves.  Actions were taken by our government that may have seemed good, or at least could be rationalized, at the time.     Eventually, you realize that living in fear is no way to live.  You don’t however, carelessly leave doors and windows open or unlocked.  Nor do you advertise any vulnerability.

The religions of the world cannot co-exist when it’s the goal of one religion to destroy all others.  America will not exist if we continue to allow those who wish to destroy America into every level of our government.  By ignoring facts, we have condemned ourselves. 

We are Americans!  Are we going to allow a wolf to paralyze us in fear because he has fallen to the lowest level of retribution, school yard name calling?  Would you stop defending your home and your family if an intruder began to call you names?  In the America I grew up in, that would have been the final straw. 

Our politicians have been appeasing the bullies of the world.  America used to be the guardians of the weak and defenseless.  The American military would go all John Wayne on them, kicking the bad guys back home; no apologies.

Step three; make changes peacefully and by following the Constitution.  It provides a bloodless turnover of power every four years.  We don’t need a revolution.  We have the most powerful tool available to mankind in our possession, the U.S. Constitution.  We’ve allowed or elected officials to dangle it above the fire. Will we allow it to go up in flames? 

As we celebrate this July 4th, let’s remember what led to July 4, 1776.
