Does It Matter?

By Tammy Derouin

I remember tripping over my fingers the first time I typed the word Benghazi. Now it flows with ease.  Those who dared to say there was more to the story were mocked, ridiculed and belittled.  Now they’re being vindicated, but will it make a difference?

“What difference, at this point, does it make?” shouted an irritated Hillary Clinton at a House and Senate Committee hearing on Benghazi.  Prior to those infamous words, she said, “Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they’d go kill some Americans?”  It’s becoming more and more evident that it was neither.

Everything but the truth was tossed around in an attempt to protect the president.  He had to be re-elected.  His award winning policies had to continue.  America has been oozing with prosperity.  The nation has been a pillar of strength under the protective watch of the Obama administration.  Hey, I think I just found all the shovel ready jobs!  They’re the spin doctors and propagandist who are at the ready for White House damage control.

“There has never been a more transparent administration.”  These were the words Jay Carney used to describe the Obama administration.  I think Mr. Carney needs to look at the definition of transparent.  Words like clear and visible are not even in the ball park.  However, sneaky, shifty, underhanded, devious and sly paint a much clearer picture of the shadowy figures and policies this administration has produced.

Such a transparent administration would be more than willing to do everything it could to find out what happened in Benghazi.  Hillary Clinton said so right after stating that it didn’t make any difference.  She continued, “It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator. Now, honestly, I will do my best to answer your questions about this. But the fact is that people were trying in real time to get the best information….But, you know, to be clear, it is, from my perspective, less important today looking backwards as to why these militants decided they did it than to find them and bring them to justice, and then maybe we’ll figure out what was going on in the meantime.”  Now why would she feel it wasn’t important as to why the attack took place?

A transparent administration, with nothing to hide, would be more than willing to release documents.  Wouldn’t they want to prove they had nothing to do with what was taking place in Benghazi?  Wouldn’t they want to show evidence that they were doing everything in their power to help the Americans who were eventually killed?  Instead, they relied on deceit.  It has worked so well for them, why stop now?

It took a lawsuit for the most transparent administration to release such incriminating documents.  They’ve had well over a year to prep for their latest spin.  The lie being hurled at us from the White House is that incriminating emails weren’t specific to Benghazi.  No, they were about the region in general.  Honestly, how does Jay Carney sleep at night?

They think we are idiots.  They’re right.  We, as a nation, have accepted so many lies from the Obama administration, what’s one more?  I can almost hear the conversation taking place of how they keep getting away with it.  Each lie is bigger and more outrageous. We rewarded Obama’s deceit by giving him a second term.

Words are powerful.  They can be informative, comforting or destructive.  The Obama administration is far from informative or comforting.  That leaves destructive.  “Let’s be clear.  These protests were in reaction to a video that had spread to the region.” Were the words of Jay Carney.  The American people have been lied to repeatedly.  Does it matter?

I hope more Americans will realize the evil taking place in this administration.  It should have fallen a long time ago.  Scandal after scandal, yet he keeps deflecting penalties by way of deceit.  While he is destroying us with one hand, he’s putting on a show with the other hand.  Admission to the show and all the extras are free!   But is it?  Are you willing to ignore what the other hand is doing?

We’ve traded our most precious gift for free magic beans.  What’s free to one individual comes at a cost to another.  Eventually the money will run out.  The beans weren’t magical and now they are no longer free.  You believed you couldn’t make it on your own so now you need them to be supplied to you.   The cost of this service will be your freedom.  How many lies are you going to accept?

“You had a video that was released by somebody who lives here, sort of a shadowy character who is extremely offensive.”

President Obama
