Toilet Gate

By Tammy Derouin

We have created a dictatorial king.  I’m not sure which title the executive prefers, dictator or king, but either way, he wears his usurped title proudly and unapologetically. We have allowed an individual and his agenda to fundamentally transform our country.  The United States of America is no longer a pillar of strength or a haven of freedom.

We, the people, witnessed the transformation from freedom to enslavement, which was promised.  No, he didn’t promote enslavement as he campaigned.  Who would vote for someone who promised to take away all of their freedom?  Instead, he played up the perceived benefits of enslavement; the upside of living in prison, while carefully omitting the pain and suffering.

The current executive and his regime have done everything in their power to destroy our country.  They have embraced every opportunity to weaken our defenses, strengthen our enemies, target the citizens and undermine or simply disregard the U.S. Constitution.  They are destroying the balance of power which was put into place to prevent the rise of tyranny in the United States.

The scandalous behavior of this administration continues.  The quest to create unrest is endless.  If an opportunity doesn’t present itself, one must be created.  The latest attempt is Toilet Gate.  All other attempts to bring about uncontrollable unrest have failed.  What better way to create upheaval than to threaten states that they will lose funding if men and boys aren’t allowed into women’s restrooms.  This issue affects everyone.  This over reach of power is unacceptable.  But, we must be cautious.  To act out in any way which could trigger civil unrest, is exactly what this regime wants.  Let’s not give it to them.

We once recognized and understood the evils of a dictatorship.  The United States has fought many wars to liberate the oppressed.  We declared our independence from a monarch, King George III of England.  Here we are, 240 years later, creating our first American king.  George Washington, our first president, refused the title of king.  He understood the trappings of such a title.  The current executive however, embraces them.

Unfortunately, we are unable to recognize the symptoms of tyranny in our own back yard.  Is it due to lack of understanding, lack of education or lack of caring?  For many, it’s probably all of the above including lack of time.  If you are interested in what is taking place but have limited time, like most of us, you probably rely on the mainstream media. Care minus time equals lack of understanding.  The mainstream media covers very little truth.

I recently heard an individual proudly proclaim that he doesn’t get all worked up about politics.  He said he doesn’t pay attention and he doesn’t vote.  It’s that attitude that has landed us in our current mess.

Our country has been unique.  The government is supposed to be of the people, by the people, for the people.  If the people don’t pay attention and don’t vote, we have created the perfect breeding ground for tyranny to rise.  If we don’t care how the political process affects our life, if we don’t want to pay attention and don’t want to vote, we lose our exceptionalism, our freedom.

We are creating a system of government that would prefer we don’t get involved.  Why worry about anything?  We can create a government that would be more than happy to do all of our thinking and make all of our decision for us.  This foolish venture comes with a hefty price tag, freedom.

We walked up to the grounds of a maximum security prison, beat on the door and begged the guardians of misery to open the gates.  We wanted to enjoy the benefits that we have been told our friends and neighbors enjoy, without fully understanding the downside.  We turned towards the light one final time, waved goodbye and then drop kicked our freedom out the door.

Upon entering this world of darkness, we shackled ourselves to an empty, but equally miserable-for-all, cell and then yelled at a guard to close the door as fast as he could.   Being self-reliant and free became too difficult.

In time, many will claim they were deceived.  You can only claim ignorance for so long. If it looks like a wolf, acts like a wolf and then attacks like a wolf, it’s a safe bet that it is a wolf.  The factually challenged will always find excuses to blame something or someone.  A prison is still a prison no matter how good the perceived benefits are marketed.

“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take away everything you have.”

Thomas Jefferson
