Shackles and Chains

By Tammy Derouin

This past week began with much shock and disbelief, followed by somber moments of reflection.  The realization of such a loss stirs up feelings of uncertainty and fear.  Coming to terms with an unexpected loss can be a difficult process.  But, coming to terms with a loss, which could have been prevented, is a different kind of grief.

The unexpected and highly suspicious death of Justice Scalia is a tragedy.  On a personal level, a family lost a father, a husband and a brother.  Many lost a friend and colleague.  On a national level, everyone lost a defender of freedom.  This was an individual who upheld the U.S. Constitution and he didn’t back down.  Many will not realize how important Justice Scalia was, even if they did not agree with him, until it’s too late.

Our nation is in crisis.  We are sinking to depths I never thought possible.  In the reality in which we now live, a great divide has taken place.  If you love and support the United States, the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. flag along and the traditions and values which once made us a great and powerful nation, you are now a racist, an extremist, and an oppressor.  You have become the enemy; the target of the executive and his administration.

The behavior of the Left is quite unsettling.  This is a movement, a political party, with a very disturbing agenda.  They create problems where few existed and create a false reality to confuse the masses.  Those who are unwilling to look beyond the surface are herded like sheep as complimentary blinders are secured into place.

Come one, come all!  Sign up for every entitlement available. Hard working Americans are being robbed of their earnings so you can sit back, relax, collect a check and not pay attention to your country crumbling around you!  Make sure your blinders are secure. You will not be entitled to anything unless you agree to be in complete darkness and relinquish all your freedoms.  Step right up!  Blinders are to the left and the shackles are to the far left!

This past week provided yet another look into the depravity and the hatred of the Left.  This movement has become a life destroying cancer to our nation, our very existence.   Death is valued over life, hate is valued over love, enslavement over freedom and entitlements over self-reliance.  In our transformed world, deceit defeats truth and hate conquers love.  Our enemies are well-regarded as Americans are held in contempt.  Complete secularism or a religion of hate is valued over Christianity.   Ultimate control is valued over our God-given rights, our freedom, our Constitution.

The Left likes to keep their long term goals hidden.  There’s a superiority complex among many.  They don’t like it when we dare to think outside of their box of shackles and chains. Those who follow are either working up the ranks to avoid being left in the mess being created or they are being used as uninformed tools to advance those who wish to enslave them.  Every demand they make, lie they perpetuate, and show they perform, is to please their puppet master.  They beg for their chains to be tighter.

Some will be lost forever.  They have accepted their place as a controllable, follow the carrot where ever it may go, individual.  Some are on the fence.  They know what they are witnessing isn’t right but they have been flooded with so many lies they don't know what to believe.  Trust has been destroyed.  The more a lie is told, the easier it is to accept.  The false reality becomes reality.

We have allowed our government to become so powerful that they are allowing our enemies to enter into our homeland and target Americans.  Our government has become so powerful that it openly targets individuals who do not agree with their ideology.  Remember when this was something which took place in oppressive, communist countries?

Welcome to the fundamental transformation of America!  It was promised.  The people applauded.  Tyranny was voted into office.  The individual, who sought to destroy everything American, fulfilled his promise as he became the first American Dictator.

A great loss brings many emotions to the surface.  Shock and disbelief are followed by somber moments of reflection.  The realization of such a great loss stirs up feelings of uncertainty and fear.  Coming to terms with such a loss, an unexpected event, can be a difficult process.  Coming to terms with a loss which could have been prevented, is heart-wrenching. The true value of our loss, our freedom, will not be completely understood until it is gone forever.

“What can he do to me?  Or to any of us?  We have life tenure and we have it precisely so that we will not be influenced by politics, by threats from anybody.”

Justice Antonin Scalia
