Puppet Branches

By Tammy Derouin

Life has many ups and downs.  Each roadblock or difficulty we face becomes a personal challenge.  How we handle the challenge is what shapes us as individuals.  Lessons learned prepare us for the next obstacle we will face.  Some challenges are more difficult than others.  At times it may feel like no matter what you do, the pain and misery will never end. Eventually, you accept, deal with the situation and move on to the next challenge.  Refusing to see a problem causes additional suffering as you will be forced to repeat the challenge possibly more than once.

No one gets through life without collecting both emotional and physical bruises and scars.  The types of problems we face are the same, yet uniquely different.  We struggle financially, through family situations and changes, employment concerns, personal relationships, the loss of family members and friends.  How we face and react to the challenges of life determines our character, strength and our stability as individuals.

What I struggle with is how much we, as a nation, took our safety and security for granted. We were an exceptional nation because we not only had our freedom but we had a government that actively protected our freedom as well as our borders. National security was once a high priority.  In our new reality, our government is more concerned about getting our potential enemy inside our borders, providing them with financial assistance and distributing them throughout our country.

We once had a system of checks and balances.  We had an Executive Branch, a Legislative Branch and a Judicial Branch.  Each would check the constitutionality of the actions taking place within the other branches.  Sadly, that is no longer the case.  We have allowed the Executive Branch to become unchallengeable. In the end, that will make the others obsolete or puppet branches of government.

The privilege and blessing of being an American once meant we could focus on our individual life situations and know we were still safe.  We could dream about a better tomorrow because we once had a government which actively protected our border and tried to prevent enemy infiltration.  Our government, in years past, used to target the enemy to protect Americans.  Today, our government targets Americans to protect their destructive agenda and the enemies of the American people.

Up until recent years, even traveling outside our borders carried a certain feeling
of security.  There was an understood feeling and expectation that the government had your back.  When it became known that an American was missing or being mistreated, the government did something about it.  They didn’t turn a blind eye and pretend you did not exist.  They didn’t meet with the heads of state, which were holding Americans, and keep silent that one of their citizens was being held prisoner.

Staying within the borders of the United States provided an even higher expectation of safety and security.  There was a time when our borders were watched and patrolled.  Law enforcement arrested illegals and deported them.  Now, the federal government ignores their responsibility by refusing to enforce their own laws.  Securing the United States is no longer a priority.  The government openly hinders and threatens those who want to protect their state and their land.

Not only does our government embrace every illegal and undocumented person who crosses into the homeland, they provide all kinds of financial assistance, including relocating them throughout our land.  Of course, the government completely ignores the fact that most states, and most Americans, do not want undocumented individuals forced on them who have not been properly vetted.

The executive recently asked Congress to spend billions of dollars to teach computer science in our schools.  First, in today’s classrooms, computers are introduced in the earliest grades.  Maybe he’s still thinking of the one room school house.  He claims it’s a basic skill and puts it right along with the three R’s.

The executive and his cronies are already destroying our educational system with Common Core.  Why do I get the feeling that his three R’s include the forced indoctrination of Re-education, Re-distribution and Re-location?

We are witnessing the fundamental transformation of America; the hope and change that the administration promised to fulfill, is taking place.  The administration has been transforming Americans into the enemy and has been welcoming the enemy of the America people into America.

“The two enemies of the people are criminals and governments, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.”

Thomas Jefferson
