The Edison Bulb

By Tammy Derouin

The one question which continually comes back to me is, why?  Why would the President of the United States want to destroy the United States?  Every week I hear myself asking the same question; but it’s simply a moment of frustration.  I accepted the answer a long time ago.  Once I accepted the reason, my focus changed.

In every situation, once you identify the problem, you can begin to focus on the solution.  Once the Edison bulb comes to light, your focus changes.  It is no longer why but how can you correct or repair the situation?  Of course, if you continue to deny the problem or blindly follow the hype behind the new and so called improved light bulb, without checking into the facts for yourself, all the light it produces will only continue to keep you in the dark.

I’ve observed, with much outraged and disbelief, the actions of the executive.  The appalling but no longer shocking conclusion I have come to, is that we no longer have a president; therefore, I refuse to call Barack Hussein Obama the president of the United States.   At best, he is an executive but his actions scream dictator.  At worst, well his term isn’t over yet, is it?

Through the inaction of our Congress and our judicial system we have witnessed the fundamental transformation of America, as promised through hope and change.  Can you still hear the people foolishly applauding an unknown candidate whose accomplishments were dismal?  After years of ignoring the American people and refusing to protect our interests at home and abroad as well as weakening our defenses at the personal and national level, you can still hear people foolishly applauding the actions of an individual who wishes to destroy our nation.

Have we become so dazzled by the bling of promises that we no longer even weigh the Constitutionality of what is being said or done?   The idea that something is a right because an individual says that it is should be, doesn’t mean it is a Constitutional right.  Insurance, housing, phones, internet as well as many other benefits are just that, benefits.

When we become a land of men rather than a land of laws, man determines which rights individuals will have, who will have them and who will not be included.  This is not freedom.  This is enslavement.

An arrogant government of men, determining which rights the people will be granted, is a government which will also determine when you are no longer worthy of government issued rights.  Your good standing will be determined by men.  Will your loyalty to the ruling party come into play?  Will your political, social or environmental views determine your worth?  Of course they will!  It is already taking place.

I remember feeling extremely concerned about the future of our country under the direction of an individual whose past was difficult to figure out.   He was a student but records seemed non-existent.  When friends and acquaintances began to surface, they were part of radical movements, anti-American movements.   Once again the media has been part of this American tragedy.  They have advanced the demise of our country by refusing to expose the truth.

I accepted, a long time ago, that the executive was not an American at heart.  He may be physically in America but his loyalties are not with the American people or our system of government.  His actions speak volumes and the proof is in is dictatorial edicts.

A loyal American president does not bow to any other nation and most certainly does not bow to our enemies, cave to their requests and allow them to infiltrate our country and our government.  A loyal American president does not make every effort to weaken our economy, our military and our security.  A loyal American president does not arm our enemies while disarming the American people.  A true American does not take an oath to uphold and protect our Constitution and then use every opportunity to shred our founding documents.

Back when I was growing up, the United States was a super power.  We would have smelled the foul stench of betrayal.  One scandal would have been more than enough to end his destructive ambitions.  His administration would have collapsed because in those days, Americans didn’t take kindly to being lied to, swindled or set up.  But, that was a different time.  Those were the days when America was strong and the citizens weren’t victims of political correctness.  We didn’t apologize for being Americans and we certainly didn’t care what our enemies thought about us.

“There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.”
Ronald Reagan
