Florida’s medical board has begun the process of banning certain "gender-affirming medical treatments" for children and adolescents following guidance from the Florida Department of Health, which recommends against puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and gender reassignment surgery for anyone under 18. DeSantis has said he would support legislation preventing children from undergoing gender-transition surgeries.
