Sen. Susan Collins: ‘Mr. President, I Will Vote to Confirm Judge Kavanaugh’:
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), perhaps the most liberal Republican in the U.S. Senate, took to the Senate floor today to give a speech explaining her analysis of the attacks that have been made against Judge Brett Kavanaugh and to state how she would vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
Collins outlined the inconsistencies and the lack of corroboration she perceived in Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her 36 years ago. Then she announced that she would be voting to confirm Kavanaugh.
