The Right to Bear Arms
By Tammy Derouin
Whenever a tragedy strikes there is
always deep sadness for those who were affected and sympathy for
those who lost loved ones. We wonder why? Why does an individual act
out violently? Was there an agenda or did they snap? Facts need to
be gathered and the truth, the whole truth, needs to be exposed.
There is usually more to the story than what is on the surface.
Every time there is a tragedy the
rights and freedoms of law abiding citizens become the target of
those who believe the government knows best. That's not working out
so well in Chicago, Baltimore or other locations where strict gun
laws are in place. Do you want to live in a society where only
criminals and the government have weapons?
It's the darnedest thing; history keeps
telling the truth. Take a look back. Look what happens to the
population when the government becomes too powerful. A dictator is
put in place, guns are confiscated, a group of people become the
scapegoat for all of society's problems and then people begin to die
at the hand of their own government.
The founders knew what they were doing,
which is why the right to bear arms landed in the number two spot in
the Bill of Rights. Look what is happening in our country, the land
of the supposed free. Our First Amendment rights have been under
attack for years. The facts don't lie and they tell a very
concerning story. Our freedom is disappearing. How many people have
been denied their right to speak and assemble because they do not
fall in lock step with the doctrine of the Left? How many
individuals have had their business targeted and attacked because
they are exercising their God-given rights?
The Left is vicious and they attack
violently. They will attempt to shut you down, prevent you from
speaking and gathering if your beliefs differ from theirs. The Left
will assault you verbally by making ridiculous claims that those who
do not share their beliefs are some sort of monster, worthy of being
attacked or even killed. What's worse is that we have allowed this
idiotic perception to go on far too long out of fear.
Fear is a powerful weapon. It keeps
people in line. Nobody wants to be called a racist or any one of the
manufactured phobias the Left has at the ready, in an attempt to
manipulate and control you. The Left has developed a weapon of hate
which takes aim at those who do not jump into their collective box of
future enslavement. They even encourage violence if it is a way to
reach a desired goal.
If the Left wins this battle, where
does that leave the American people, the ones who had it so good but
took their freedom for granted and then traded it for safety and
security? History has the answer but who is teaching it? With
freedom comes responsibility. We have to protect and guard our
freedoms from those who want to enslave us and those who don't have a
clue that their actions today will backfire on all of us tomorrow.
Many people may think that speech needs
to be regulated because it can be hurtful. I would rather know
someone's true feelings or beliefs up front. I will decide if I
accept what they have to say or if I reject it. I want the Left and
everyone, regardless of their beliefs, to have a platform because
that's how we, the people, figure things out. If only one side is
allowed to have a voice, freedom is suppressed and it's enslavement
for all. Just because you may fall in line with a popular view today
doesn't mean you will be in line tomorrow.
The Democratic Party uses misguided,
uniformed individuals as their foot soldiers. They are being used to
remove everyone's freedoms. Look at the groups the Obama
administration reached out to the most, women, the gay community and
Islam. Perhaps there's a coloring or activity book available for
those who need to self sooth which could help them connect the dots.
Our rights have been under attack for
years. We now have a president who is trying to reverse the damage
done by Obama. Unfortunately, people bought into false rights so now
President Trump has to deal with the backlash of removing an over
reach of power which benefited some but trampled on others.
If more people were aware of our
history, they would know Obama was truly the one who inflicted
devastating wounds. He did it with a smile, deceit and a whole lot
of sugar to lure people into the trap. Once we forget why the fight
for freedom was so important, we will be doomed to repeat the
experience.
“The beauty of the Second Amendment
is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.”
